Our founding story.

Raised in Scandinavia, I grew up immersed in what permeates every home we shape: Simplicity, quality, sustainability, and connection to nature. Designing and building homes runs in my blood all the way back to my great grandfather, who was a land owner, builder, and surveyor. And while, after college, I went on to build a two-decade career growing tech startups and large businesses, I spent my free time throughout those two decades furthering my heritage by re-imagining and re-building homes across Sweden, Spain, and Seattle.

In 2025, I retired from tech and founded Seattle Scandinavian to fully dedicate my life to creating modern and memorable custom living spaces for customers in Seattle.

At Seattle Scandinavian, we design and build custom Scandinavian designer homes that reflect the best of modern Nordic architecture: clean lines, functional beauty, natural materials, and quiet tasteful luxury. We'll tailor your property around your life, following modern minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics, integrated with the natural beauty of our dear Pacific Northwest and Seattle. Each of our builds is an expression of intentional design and enduring quality — created for those who value sustainability, comfort, and timeless but memorable aesthetics.

Using wood, metal, concrete, tile, and stone, we create fully custom interiors, exteriors, furniture, and art. We scour the market for long lasting high-end materials that will make your space unique. Among other materials, we work with naturally hardened Accoya wood, domestic hardwoods, reclaimed woods, Shou Sugi Ban siding, and large format tile. When we don't build custom furniture to complete your space, we source both new and reclaimed/vintage pieces that further enhance the unique feeling of a Seattle Scandinavian home.
